As an "older" personal trainer I can offer not just my expert technical knowledge but also more than 20 years of directly relevant experience.
As a PE teacher I've spent years motivating teenagers to get active. I've enjoyed working not just with the kids who are there at every practice but also with those who really don't want to do it and use every excuse in the book!
The experience I gained coaxing groups of up to 30 fourteen-year-olds to run, and sometimes even enjoy, the whole of the school "bogtrot" I have now put into the Running and FIT group classes that are a key part of Aspire's Solutions.
I'm a mum with two children, I've put on weight during pregnancy, lost it "being good" and then put it all back on doing coffee and cake, finishing off the kids dinners, and eating because I was too tired to do anything else!
I know that you can change your life, that it involves hard work and that it feels so good to do it!
I also know that to permanently get rid of body fat, traditional diets just don't work. I now eat butter, full-fat milk, roast pork and the crackling, chicken with skin on, tonnes of veg and a bit too much chocolate and I am slimmer and healthier than I have been in the last thirty years. I would love to share the secret of this healthiness with you.
Over the last few years I've achieved various personal aspirations. I've climbed mountains with my family and run a marathon for the first time. I've cycled the beautiful South Downs Way twice and celebrated being 40 by throwing myself off a cliff into the sea with a bunch of very good friends. In 20013 I participated in the fantastic Ride London 100 mile bike ride. And last year I rode to Paris with a close friend. I've even run Obstacle Course Races and Mud Runs.
Some of my clients love to train for events, some of them just want to run, walk or cycle locally for a bit of 'me-time' in our beautiful Sussex countryside, others need to lose weight for health reasons.
